Eine hochwertige akademische Bildung, modernste technische Einrichtungen und eine gute Betreuung finden Studenten an der University of Southern Queensland (USQ) vor. Die Computerräume sind hier rund um die Uhr geöffnet und ein großer Teil des Bibliothekbestandes ist online zugänglich. In Absolventen-Befragungen zu Zufriedenheit und Unterrichtsqualität schneidet die USQ immer wieder überdurchschnittlich gut ab.
Das Kursangebot der USQ umfasst die Fachbereiche Geistes- und Naturwissenschaften, Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Ingenieur- und Vermessungswesen sowie Erziehungswissenschaft. Insbesondere angehende Ingenieure, Wirtschaftswissenschaftler, sowie Journalisten und Medienwissenschaftler finden hier ein breites und erstklassiges Kursangebot vor.
Interessant für PhD-Kandidaten: Die Uni engagiert sich in den Bereichen nachhaltige Entwicklung und Umweltschutz. Die praxisorientierte Forschung erfolgt im Hinblick auf praktische Anwendbarkeit in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der Industrie - Traumbedingungen für Doktoranden also.
Wen die weite Reise nach Down Under schreckt: International führend ist die Universität im Bereich Fernstudium. Der Hauptcampus der Universität befindet sich in Toowoomba (Queensland), das etwa 130 Kilometer westlich von Brisbane liegt. Der zweite Standort der USQ, Wide Bay, ist im Küstenort Hervey Bay an der Sunshine Coast. Anfang 2006 wurde ein neuer Campus der USQ in Springfield in Betrieb genommen, der etwa eine halbe Autostunde von Brisbane entfernt liegt.
